“Celebrating God’s Grace!”
“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, unpright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope – the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.” (Ti.2:11-14).
Grace is the reason for the season. We remind ourselves that Grace is the undeserved love that God has shown us in Christ while we were still sinners and enemies of God. We are saved by grace, we are not saved by any moral achievements or religious acts on our part.
That notwithstanding, grace teaches us that the testimony of our salvation should be good works.
Grace as teacher is more than an instructor. Grace as teacher includes what it takes to train a child. This includes instruction, encouragement, correction and discipline.
Christmas is a time of rejoicing because love poured on us from on high. Let us celebrate grace and be merry, reminding ourselves that this man whose birth we commemorate sacrificed his life to save us from all wickedness, “to purify for himself a people that are his own, eager to do what is good.”
So as we we celebrate love let us be eager to do what is good. The love we celebrate today teaches us to pass it on.
Christmas prayer: Holy Spirit inspire us to be eager to do what is good while awaiting the glorious second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
Have a blessed Christmas day! Peace be with you! Merry Christmas!
Rev. Babila Fochang.
