“…Away From The Crowd!”(Mk.7:31-37).
“…Away from the crowd…” reminds me of “Far from the maddening crowd.” Some things are possible only when we move away from the crowd!
This week our reflections is all about healing. Today it is about a deaf man who “could hardly talk.” The people who brought him to Jesus “begged him to place his hand on the man.”
Jesus “took the man aside, away from the crowd,…put his fingers into the man’s ears. Then he spit and touched the man’s tongue. He looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him, …’Be opened!’…The man’s ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly.”
Interestingly again, “Jesus commanded them not to tell anyone. But the more he did so, the more they kept talking about it.”We can simply add that perhaps even today, it is difficult for people to obey Jesus and be quiet. People cannot help but talk about the miraculous works of Christ. But we must be reminded that good as it is to declare the wonders of God’s grace after healing, we do so in disobedience to his command not to tell anyone!
We may not see it as hurting anyone, but it is gross disobedience!
Here like in other instances, “People were overwhelmed with amazement. ‘He has done everything well. He even makes the deaf to hear and the more to speak.'”, they said.
Come to Jesus with any disability, deformity, etc! God is Christ is there to bring you back to agreeable state!
Weekend prayer: We come to you LORD; heal us and make us instruments of your praise. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!

[“Give to our God immortal praise
Mercy and truth are all His ways
Wonders of grace to God belong
Repeat His mercies in your song
He built the earth, He spread the sky
And fixed the starry lights on high
Wonders of grace to God belong
Repeat His mercies in your song
He fills the sun with morning light
He bids the moon direct the night
His mercies ever shall endure
When suns and moons shall shine no more
He sent His Son with pow’r to save
From guilt and darkness and the grave
Wonders of grace to God belong
Repeat His mercies in your song…”]
