“Hold On To Your Faith; Your God Will Be Your Glory!”
A statement of faith common in grassroots theology is, “when there is life, there is hope.” The song that came to me this morning is, “hold on to your faith…” Yes, it is important to hold on to your faith for by that you are “sure of what you hope for and certain of what you do not see.”
Without faith and hope, there is no future! In Pidgin in English we say, “one day ee go better!”
What a blessed assurance! Through the prophet Isaiah the Lord Almighty is giving us that blessed assurance that Christmas is the fulfilment of hope. It is also the assursnce that those who believe in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ will make heaven.
The Lord says, “the sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end”(60:19-20). Oh what a blessed assurance!
My friend, no matter the travails of the present, receive this blessed assurance: “The Lord will be your everlasting light…and your days of sorrow will end!” Keep the faith and keep on keeping on; for through the love of God our Saviour “all must be well!”
Weekend prayer: Thank you Lord for the blessed assurance that through your love all must be well. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you! Merry Christmas!
