“I Will Rise!”(Mi.7:7-9).
During hopeless periods of life, in times when your adversaries mock and deride your downfall, read and reread this:👇🏿
“…I watch in hope for the Lord
I wait for God my Savior;
my God will hear me. …Do not gloat over me, my enemy!
Though I have fallen, I will rise.
Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.
Because I have sinned against him, I will bear the Lord’s wrath, until he pleads my case and upholds my cause.
He will bring me out into the light;
I will see his righteousness.”
My friend, when there is life, there is hope. And hope does not disappoint!
Confident hope requires the acknowledgement that choices have consequences! When the choice is sin, the consequence is God’s wrath!
Even then, repentance assures that the same LORD will plead the sinner’s case and uphold his cause.
The LORD will bring the repentant heart to his marvellous light, and the sinner sees his righteousness.
The LORD did all this in and through the Lord Jesus Christ. Through Christ, the people who sat I’m darkness have seen the light because Christ is the light of the world!
My friend, build your hope on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness. Although Christ has redeemed you, when you sin, accept the punishment you deserve. But when like the prodigal son, you realise yourself, turn to the LORD for forgiveness. The LORD will restore and vindicate you so that enemies who rejoiced in your downfall will be put to shame.
With God, though we fall, we will rise!
Prayer: Holy Spirit, give me the courage to endure the wrath of the LORD until he pleads my case. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
