“The Season For This Song Of Praise!”(Is.26:1-12)[09/12/2024].
In the midst of prophetic utterances, Isaiah paused to compose a previewed song of praise. All the same, the song itself is a prophecy of things yet to happen. This is deduced from the introduction to the song: “In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah…”
The following excerpts from the song catches our attention: “We have a strong city; God makes salvation its ramparts…You will keep in perfect peace him whose heart is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD…is the Rock eternal. He humbles those who dwell on high, he lays the lofty city low; he levels it to the ground…The path of the righteous is level; O upright One, you make the way of the righteous smooth. Yes, LORD, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts. My soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you…Though grace is shown to the wicked, they do not learn righteousness…LORD, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us.”
Dear friend, the season that the prophet previewed for the song is now. It is a song for Advent in anticipation of the incarnation of the Savior at Christmas. Sing it now in thankfulness for what the LORD has accomplished for you.
Prayer of the day and week: Thank you, LORD, for all that we have accomplished you have done for us. Amen!
Welcome back to a new working day and week! Have a blessed day and week! Peace be with you!
Rev Babila Fochang.
