“Listen And Follow…!”(Jn.10:27-30).
The Jews were tired of Jesus keeping them in suspense; or so they thought. They told him, “If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.” Among other things which Jesus said in response was, “I did tell you but you did not believe. The miracles I do in my Father’s name speak for me, but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father who has given them to me is greater than all, no one can snatch them from my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”
Both from within and without are claimant voices that challenge the Christship of Jesus. There should exist an intimate bond between sheep and shepherd. Believing in a belief system may not come through logical reasoning. That is why believing comes by faith. This is summed up in the words of the Lord, “My sheep listen to my voice, I know them, and they follow me.”
There is a reward for those who follow the Lord. They will receive eternat life, they shall never perish and no one can snatch them from the hand of the Lord.
The “no one” includes Satan. It is an exhibition of little faith to spend time fighting Satan.Focus on listening to the voice of the Lord and follow him. And no one, not even the devil will snatch you from him, because you are in the care of the good shepherd! Any word or action that challenges the Lordship of Jesus Christ is tantamount to listening to the voice of a stranger, an indication that you are not Jesus’ sheep. So therefore, do not listen to the voice of a stranger!
Prayer: Holy Spirit prod me daily to listen to the voice of the good shepherd and to follow him. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
