“Washed In The Blood Of The Lamb!”(Rev.7:9-17).
Once I was kind of stranded at the airport in Jo’burg. Somebody spotted me and probably noticed that I was stranded. He came to me, greeted me and asked if I was from Cameroon.
I answered in the affirmative, but wondered how he could guess that I was from Cameroon. He told me he identified me by the North West traditional bag I was hanging on my shoulder. It so happened that we had met before in Bamenda town.
While it is good that my traditional bag helped me, the same bag could also identify me as a stranger; and imagine if it was during a period of xenophobic attacks!
The peoples of the world are often seperated by nations, tribes, peoples as in cosmopolitan settings and languages. These divisions often generate tensions leading to conflicts.
Unfortunately, sometimes, even in the church where the scriptures teach that in Christ there is neither Greek nor Jew, slave nor freeman, there is still tension and segregation on racial, national and tribal grounds. It shouldn’t be so with us!
In the kingdom reign of Christ the people who are worthy to serve him are those who will triumph over the final hostlity before Christ’s return. These will come “from every nation, tribe, people and language.” Jesus Christ is without boarders!
Another wall of seperation is between social classes. However, the great multitude that no one can count who stand before the throne and in front of the Lamb are not selected on the basis of status. They are worthy on the simple grounds that “they have come out of the great tribulation.”
Good news for all who are found worthy is that in Christ’s kingdom reign he will be their good shepherd leading them to springs of “living water.” During the kingdom reign of Christ social disequilibrum will also be destroyed.“Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst…And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
What great words of comfort and assurance of a brighter and better tomorrow!
My friend, whatever it is that you are passing through now, walk in the way of the Lord(Ps.128:1). And “surely goodness and love will follow you all the days of your life,” because “the Lord is your shepherd”(Ps.23).
Weekend prayer: LORD, wash me in the blood of the Lamb and let me serve him only. Lamb of God lead me to springs of “living” water. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
