“Made Righteous Through Faith In Christ Jesus!”(Rom.3:21-26).
A teacher of a Bible school has narrated the story how in a staff meeting of the school some teachers strongly advocated for the dismissal of a third year student for waywardness. Then one of their colleagues exclaimed, “Look at who wants the dismissal of a third year student!” His statement was an indictment. It was like Jesus telling those who accused the woman caught in adultery, “If any of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her”(Jn.8:1-11).
We are all reminded that it is written:“There is no one righteous, not even one;…they have all turned away…there is no one who does good, not even one…There is no fear of God before their eyes”(Rom.3:10-18).
Indeed,“there is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” But this is not a justification for wilful sinning. Rather this is to say that our efforts to live sin-free lives are futile. We cannot gain righteousness by keeping the Law.
We now have “a righteousness from God apart from the Law. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.” There is no distinction as to race, color, hierarchy; not even sarcedotal positions!
Even so, we cannot live in wilful sins because we are saved by grace. We are not saved through the law. By faith we are saved through the sacrificial blood of Jesus Christ. As a response to this act of love, we strive our utmost to live lives that befits the same righteousness that the law requires.
Bottomline: The blood of the Lord Jesus Christ has achieved for you and I what we can never achieve through effort.
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ thank you for redeeming grace through your blood. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
