“Seek To Know The Scriptures And The Power Of God!” (Mt.22:23-33).
“You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God…” A major enemy of the gospel that will cause many well-intentioned Godseekers to miss heaven is “heresy.” The reason for this is the failure to know Scriptures and the power of God found therein.
The heresy of the Sadducees was that they read the same Scriptures like Jesus and the rest, but they did not believe in the resurrection and other teachings. Jesus told them that they were in error because they neither knew the Scriptures nor the power of God.
This Saduceean heresy persists today. We are not supposed to select from Scriptures what to believe and to ignore what does not suit our direction. That is what I call “egocentric hermeneutics.” Any time we make a wrong interpretation of Scriptures, Jesus Christ tells us, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.” Like the Saducees we may claim to know so much, yet knowing nothing. The Saducees were a formidable religious group with maximum representation in the Sanhedrin, but they were in error. What then were they teaching and what was the eternal fate of those who believed in their teaching?
My friend, not all interpretations of Scriptures are divinely inspired! Be discerning so that you do not miss eternity because you relied on the erroneous teachings of today’s Sadducees!
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ I pray for a discerning spirit to know the Scriptures and the power of God. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
