“Fear Not! Do Not Be Afraid!”
“What I feared has come upon me; what I dreaded has happened to me. I have no peace, no quietness; I have no rest, but only turmoil”(Job.3:25-26).
Some of the comforting words of Scriptures are, “Fear not” and “Do not be afraid.” Fear seems to be a necessary part of human existence. However, be careful with what preoccupies your thoughts. They become your reality. You are as you think.
Do not let fear take centre-stage in your thoughts. For as a man thinketh in his heart, so shall it be unto him.
Each time Job’s children had a party, “Job would send and have them purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking, ‘Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.’ This was Job’s regular patten” (Job.1:4-5).
Job thought he could placate God with sacrifices and this became an obsession with him.
My friend, do not undermine God’s abundant grace. Do not be obsessed by your fears, otherwise they become your reality. Rather occupy your heart with the assurance which comes by grace, “Fear not!” and, “Do not be afraid!” God’s will does not lead you where his grace will not sustain you. In everything, submit to his will for our times are in his hands.
Prayer of the week: Lord, even if I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will not fear because you are with me. Amen!
Welcome back to a new working week. Have a blessed day and week! Peace be with you!
Babila Fochang.
