“Pray, Pray And Pray!”
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house abd went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”
Our regular kind of church gatherings, family morning and evening prayers do not resemble Jesus’ praying contexts. Jesus went off to solitary places like gardens and hills to pray.
Prayer is the source through which believers tap from God.
Always find time to be alone so as to have a talk with God. In as much as God deals with us according to what he has planned, we still need to remind him through prayers. We also have to thank him for what he has already done; still through prayers.
On the side, it is interesting that when Simon and the others found Jesus, they exclaimed: “Everyone is looking for you!” We too keep looking for Jesus, aren’t we? Those “everyone” were looking for Jesus because of the benefits they reaped from him. If they had their way they would have prefered to make him their personal preacher and healer. That is what we all do through denominational correctness! Jesus’ reply to them was an indirect way of letting them know that he belongs to everybody everyehere! Jesus replied, “Let us go somewhere else – to the nearby villages – so I can preach there also. That is why I came.” And that is how “he travelled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons”(Lk.1:35-39).
Lesson learned:
Prayer is the source of our strength for daily living. Collective prayers is good, but praying in lonely places enables you to hear God distinctly. Jesus is for the whole world and cannot always be only for some people; the more reason why we should reach him through prayer.
Besides, Jesus’ reply is a reminder that there is no permanence for preachers. The nearby villages also need the word of hope and for the demons there to be cast out as well! Pray, pray and pray!
Prayer of the week: Lord Jesus Christ thank you for teaching me by your example the importance of prayer and the places and time to pray. Amen!
Welcome back to a new working week! Have a blessed day and week! Peace be with you!
