“Receive The Word Of God As It Actually Is, The Word Of God!”
After sowing the seeds, the farmer keeps tending the crops and thanking God for its growth and potential fruitful harvest.
The impact of any message upon our lives is determined by the attitude of mind that we have. When the message is received positively the outcome is also positive.
The word of God acts on us according to how we received it. Paul thanked God continually for the Thessalonians (I Th.2:13-20) because they “received the word of God, not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is at work in you who believe.”
When we receive the word of God as the word of men, we easily run the danger of personality cults like it was the case with the Corinthian Christians who were either for Paul or Apollos. Worst is that the word of God received as the word of man keeps us in our carnal nature as sin continues to have a firm grip over our lives. But when we receive “the word of God as it actually is, the word of God,” it begins to work in us, transforming us from sinfulness to righteousness. We become imitators of those who have suffered persecution, even in the hands of their own people. Even Jesus and the prophets suffered the same fate.
If our faith has to endure we must “receive the word of God as it actually is, the word of God.” This way it will be at work in us giving us the strength and courage to overcome the persecutions of men and the temptations of Satan.
Prayer: Holy Spirit help me to receive the word of God as it actually is, the word of God, and let it be at work in me always. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
