“Strive To Be The Least In The Kingdom Of Heaven!”
By Jewish categorisation John the Baptist wouldn’t have ranked amongst the people of timbre and calibre. Yet Jesus said, “…Among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist…” The quality of a person is not according to human categorization but by divine choice. John was a great man in that he was the immediate messenger to prepare the way for the Lord. He prepared the people with the compelling call to repentance!
According to Jesus the uncouth, anti-social and low standard John the Baptist was was nonparreil, “yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he* (Mt.11:7-15).
There is a sense in which the urgency in which the message of repentance must be compellingly preached now as it was in the days of John the Baptist! Status or rank in society does not guarantee our salvation. The saved shall be those who heed the message of repentance and turn to God. They may be least according to human categorization but by divine choice they become greater than the greatest.
Therefore, strive to heed to the call to repentance today so that in the kingdom of heaven you can become greater than the greatest!
Prayer: Holy Spirit lead me to repentance and make me the least in the kingdom of heaven. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
