“Do Not Subject Christ To Public Disgrace!”
We are familar with successful and prosperous youngmen who suddenly became mad or died under mysterious circumstances. The stories often going the rounds about such young people are that the source of their wealth was esoteric fraternities. Unfortunately the devil does not offer any free launch. Whatever he gives with the right hand, he takes back with the left hand. Like in any deal terms and conditions apply! You cannot benefit from such fraternities and suddenly want to opt out. They either cause you to run mad or die suddenly! Because you know their secrets and can expose them.
In a positive way, if you have once been enlightened, if you have once tasted the heavenly gift, shared in the Holy Spirit and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if you fall away, it will be difficult to bring you back to repentance. Because to your loss you are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public ridicule(Heb.6:4-8).
If you have genuinely tasted the goodness of the Lord you will not have any reason to backslide. However, it is possible to be always there as we are, yet our words and deeds may be “crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.” This is why it is important that we keep correcting and encouraging one another so that whatever we do sould bring glory, honour and praise to the Son of God!
Weekend prayer: Holy Spirit guide me in my words and deeds not to subject my Lord Jesus Christ to public disgrace. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
