“To God Alone Be The Glory…!”
The first question in the Basel Mission catechism in the Mungaka language is “What do we live for?” The answer states that once in this world some people think that they are here to multiply wealth. Some think that they are here to multiply and fill the earth with offspring, while others think they are here to be worshipped as gods etc. The answer ends by stating that all the above are all false notions of why we are here. “We are here to praise our Creator.”
We can take our cue from nature: the leaves of all plants face heavenward in perpetual praise of the Maker.
Human power, wealth, fame, authority, wisdom, knowledge and intelligence deserves no praise. Whatever we are or whatever we become, we are merely tools in the hands of the master. Praise belongs only to the One who makes all things possible; God the Father who has revealed himself to humanity through his Son Jesus Christ “so that all nations might believe and obey him.”
To him “the only wise God be glory for ever through Jesus Christ!”(Rom.16:25-26).
So my friend, for the gift of a new day, for the free gift of the air you breathe and for all the blessings you receive through grace don’t stop praising the Lord! And do not deify yourself by seeking glory for yourself!
Prayer: Glory be to you Holy Triune God. You alone are worthy of praise. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
