“You Are A Member Of God’s Household!”(Eph. 2:17-22).
Simply put, a household consist of all the people living within a housing unit. The people living in one big compound do not necessarily belong to the same household. However, God’s household consist of all believers worldwide.
In any group there are always those who claim to belong more than others. Such kind of people are ready to advance reasons why you are merely tolerated, so you have to keep a low profile and make no noise except you are spoken to.
It is good to know yourself and not to overstep your bounds. But when the top tells you to make yourself comfortable and feel at home, you should not allow anyone to intimidate you.
Whoever we were in the past, whatever we have been, that was then, through Christ Jesus “we both have access to the Father by the Spirit.” Christ did not preach peace only to those who are near, he preached peace also to those who were far away.
Consequently as Gentiles we are no longer foreigners and aliens. We are “fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.”
It is no longer a matter of “we and them,” or “they and us!”
We are one in Christ Jesus! “In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. “In him we too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.”
Despite its diversity, the Church of Christ worldwide has the Lord Jesus Christ himself as the chief cornerstone.
No tribe, country, race or colour are privileged than others. We have all been built together and are a dwelling place where God lives by his Spirit.
The Lord Jesus Christ himself says, “…whoever comes to me I will never drive away”(Jn.6:37). Not only that, he stands at the door knocking, ready to enter and dine with anyone who hears his voice and opens to him(Rev.3:20).
Weekend prayer: Thank you Lord Jesus Christ for making even me a member of God’s household. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
