“Undaunted Hope: The Reason For The Praise!”(Is.12).
Undaunred hope is borrowed from Claudia Black’s book, “Undaunted Hope: Stories of Healing from Trauma, Depression, and Addictions.” A review of the book states: “The primary message of this book is that anyone willing to do the hard work can come out the other side stronger, healthier, and happier.”
The six verse chapter of today’s text from Isaiah is about a people with undaunted hope offering praise to the One who has made it possible for them to “come out the other side stronger, healthier and happier.”
Undaunted means: not intimidated or discouraged by difficulty, danger, or disappointment.”
Undaunted hope is inherent in the biblical definition of faith as “being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do see”(Heb.11:1). Resilience carries us to that place of the realisation of expectations. Tough people outlast tough times!
In the text, prophet Isaiah is intimating that arrival at that place where expectations are met is not so much about resilience and endurance. It is so much about the decision of the Author and Finisher of life who turns his anger to comfort.
When we are put right with God, his anger turns to comfort.
Present travails are momentary, and the future is blissful. “Victory is coming tomorrow…! Amandla!
There is a sense in which we are living in that period of deserving praise songs to the LORD. The Lord Jesus Christ is our salvation. We have trust, and we are not afraid. We are overcomers because the LORD himself is our strength and our defence and has become our salvation.
For this and many more, we should “go tell it on the mountains, over the hills and everywhere” the glorious things he has done. Make known what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted. Sing to the LORD for he has done glorious things…”
No matter what the present holds, have undaunted hope because tomorrow things go better!
Sunday prayer: We praise you, LORD, for you were angry with us, but now you comfort us and are angry no more. Amen!
Have a blessed Sunday! Peace be with you!
