“The Risen Lord Walks With You To Your Emmaus!”
Two of the disciples were on their way to a village near Emmaus. It was a journey of shattered hopes. A stranger joins them as they were discussing about the incidences of the last few days in Jerusalem.
They wondered whether he was only a stranger in Jerusalem and was not aware of what had happened there in the last few days? They recounted to him the story of Jesus and ended in despair, “…but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to save Israel.” It also amazed them that some of their women told them of the empty tomb, they went there and confirmed the story.
The steanger then explained to them what Scriptures had said concerning the Messiah. It is only when they were eating that the stranger revealed himself to them through the way he blessed the food. But before they could say anything he disappeared (Lk. 24:13-35).
My friend, are you in a situation where your hopes are dashed and you think all is lost? Do not despair for the script is still being written. The story is not ended.
Mind the way you treat a stranger. That stranger may be the risen Lord who has come to comfort you and give you assurance that “it shall be well.”
No matter how bad the situation is do not give for it shall come to pass. Your journey of frustration to Emmaus will turn to a story of victory! Cheer up and never give up on Jesus Christ who gave everything for you. He will never leave you nor abandon you! Just have faith!
Prayer: Father give me the eyes of faith to see the presence of Christ in my time of despair. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
