“The Lord Jesus Christ Arrives Your Boat In Stormy Seas!”(Jn.6:16-21).
“…By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough. When they had rowed three or three and a half miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on water, and they were terrified. But he said to them,“It is I, don’t be afraid.” Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading.”
As we journey through life we do experience those rough moments when everything is dark, strong winds blow and the waters grow rough because Jesus is not in our boat.
Then suddenly here comes Jesus walking on water approaching us to salvage the situation and allay our fears. Instead of being happy that the Lord is nearby, we get terrified because we have limited knowledge of divine actions.
In anthropomorphic reasoning we think that Jesus can approah us in the sea only in a water friendly vessel.
With God all things are possible. He who tells the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” and they obey him can also command the waters to turn to solid so that he can walk on it.
My friend, fear not when life’s waves become rough and Jesus is seemingly not around. He knows when the waters are rough and he hurries to your rescue. Do not be terrified by his means of transportation.
Jesus comes to us in the midst of our adversities and when we are surrounded by adversaries with these consoling words, “It is I; don’t be afraid.” Just be willing to take him into your tossing boat and immediately the boat will reach the shore of your destination. The Lord says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terriefied…for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you” (Dt.31:6). Yes, he cannot abandon you in midstream! He sails with you to the safe shores of your destination!
Weekend prayer: Thank you Lord Jesus Christ for being there when we need you most and least expected you. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
