“The Lord Is Still Gracious To Us…!”
We grew up singing the song, “home again again…when shall I see my home? When shall I see my native land? I’ll never forget my home.” We were told that was a song by African soldiers figthing in foreign lands. Funnily enough fighting a war that wasn’t supposed to involve them except that it was called “World war!”
Today right in our own land this song speaks volumes to us as if it was composed for us. Nevertheless, there are hopes of a return and restoration. However, you and I should be an Ezra to acknowledge in prayer how we have raised the dust that is entering our eyes!
Ezra prayed, “O my God, I am too ashamed and disgraced to lift up my face to you my God, because our sins are higher than our heads and our guilt has reached to the heavens… What has happened to us is a result of our evil deeds and our great guilt, and yet, our God, you have punished us less than our sins have deserved and has given us a remnant like this…”
Yes, Ezra was happy with the remnant the Lord had given to return from exile and rebuild Jerusalem.
“The Lord our God has been gracious in leaving us a remnant…” He is a righteous God; without which “in our guilt…not one of us can stand in his presence(Ezra 9:5-9&13-15).
My friend each and everyone of us should be an Ezra to intercede for the remnants! God has not abandoned us! Our restoration is on its way! There is hope for the hopeless!
My friend, it’s a new day in a new working week. Step out with hope and confidence in a God who has considered you a remnant for the restoration!
Prayer of the week: Lord thank you for being gracious to us, even when our sins overwhelmed us. Amen!
Have a blessed day and week! Peace be with you!
