“The Call!”(Is.6:1-5).
Prophet Isaiah prophesied in the reign of four kings. It was in the year that Uzziah died that Isaiah was commissioned by God.”
Kings die, but God reigns Supreme and eternal. In that year of Uzziah’s death, Isaiah saw the LORD seated on a throne, high and exalted…” and seraphs “were calling to one another: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.'”
When Isaiah saw the vision of the LORD and heard the song of the seraphs, he cried, “Woe is me! I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty.”
What a contrast! Even though the whole earth is full of God’s glory, the people who live there have unclean lips. Unclean lips reflects unclean hearts. In later days, the Lord Jesus Christ said, it is not what goes into a person that makes the person unclean, it is what comes out of the person that defines the one; for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
That notwithstanding, those whom the LORD has identified behold his glory which fills the earth. The LORD does not identify the saints for his assignment. He identifies the sinners who behold his glory and cry over thier sinful nature.
The LORD transforms led into gold. He appoints, anoints and equips!
The sinner who behold the glory of the LORD that fills the earth, realises also that the earth is full of unclean lips.
The LORD is aware of this and that itself is the reason for his grace found in Jesus Christ through whom the Holy Spirit purifies the lips of the repentant sinner.
All these happens so that the penitent should join the seraphs in singing, “Holy, holy is the LORD, Almighty…!”
Cry out and let your lips be purified.
Prayer of the day and week: Make your presence known to us LORD, so that we can behold your glory. Amen!
Have a blessed day and week! Peace be with you!
