“The Best Is Yet To Come, Ask God For Forgiveness!”
On Mount Sinai God had just given the stone tablet to Moses containing the ten commandments. In his absence Aaron took advantage to ask the people to bring their trinkets which he used in making a golden calf god. In anger of what he saw Moses destroyed the stone tablets (Ex.32).
God asked him to chisel out two new stone tablets and bring up to Mt Sinai. There the Lord passed infront of Moses declaring that he is a “compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness…forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished…”
Yes, such is our God! A God who remains faithful to his words.
Apart from the goodness of God, I want us to learn from the example of Moses as he made intercession for those who had wronged him, but most especially God. Moses prayed, “O Lord, if I have found favour in your eyes, then let the Lord go with us. Although this is a stiff-necked people, forgive our wickedness and our sin, and take us as your inheritance.” Note that Moses did not exclude himself as if he was better than the rest.
The Lord made a covenant with Moses, declaring, “I will do wonders never before done in any nation in all the world…”(Ex.34:4-10).
My friend, no matter the gravity of our sins, if there is a Moses to plead for us, the compassionate God will still do awesome things for us! God forgives “wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished…!”
Watchout what you do to others so that nemesis does not catch up on you! Be ready to pray for God to forgive your wrong doing and be sure that great things will come your way!
Prayer of the week: Lord thank you for a new week. May your compassion upon us be without limits and may you do wonders in our lives that would astound the world. Amen!
Have a blessed working week! Peace be with you!
