“Stand Firm…!”
The world offers so many alluring platforms to stand on. Their attractiveness and the fake promises of security are very enticing. My friend, don’t go there! Don’t go to them!
These words come to us very timely: “So then, brothers, stand firm and hold on to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.”
The word of God has not changed. What he has done for you is permanent. You are “loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth…”
My friend, the truth of the gospel does not change. Steer clear from men of lawlessness. Stand firm. The Lord himself is your backup. He is here to “encourage your heart and strengthen you in every good deed and word.”
Remember that whatever God expects of you is a response to what he has already done for you. He loved you and chose you (II Thes.2:13-17). Christ is the only solid rock on which to stand; all other ground is sinking sand!
Prayer: Father thank you for your love and for chosing me. I will stand firm on your word. Amen!
