“Righteous Judge, To You Lord I Commit My Cause!”
God has a way of humbling all humanity. Both the high and the lowly are in panic of the unknown. Panic however should not be the worry of those who have faith because this unknown future has always been the basis of their faith. “…faith is being sure of what we hope for, and certain of what we do not see”(Heb.11:1); unless we hope to see only the good and not the bad!
No matter the odds against us; including epidemics and pandemics, nothing “else in all creation, will be able to seperate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord “(Rom.8:37-39).
Many have said the world has been united more than ever before in the global fight against the Corona virus. How true is this statement? Has the killings and fightings in the North West and South West regions ceased? Have wars across the nations be put on hold because of the combined fight against Corona virus? Has the animosities and hatred we have for others ceased even in the midst of our collective prayers?
My friend, it is the same old story! It was in the midst of a war when there were so many plots against the life of Jeremiah. His only crime being that he warned the people of Judah that the right thing to do in the face of war was not to seek any alliance with any country, but rather to seek the face of God in true repentance.
In one of the plots against him the Lord revealed the plot to him. In his own words, “I had been like a gentle lamb led to the slaughter…” meanwhile his coup plotters were saying, “Let us destroy the tree and its fruit; let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name be remembered no more…”
In such circumstances there is just one source that can offer help and protection. That only source is God Almighty!
When you realise a plot against you, like Jeremiah turn to the Lord and cry, “But, O Lord Almighty, you who judge righteously and test the heart and mind, let me see your vengeance upon them, for to you I have committed my cause”(Jer,11:18-20).
Yes, as you walk through the valley of death, fear no evil for the Lord is with you. He assures you that he will fight for you, “you need only to be still”(Ex.14:14).
Prayer: Righteous Judge, to you O Lord Almighty I have committed my cause. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
