“Return To The Lord And Remain In His Presence!”
I read a funny truth on a friend’s post. He said he asked a lady
whether her dog bites and the lady said “No.” He considers that the lady is a liar in that if the dog doesn’t bite, how then does it eat? Maybe we lie when we do not understand the question just as much as we lie when we understand the question. Maybe this is the reason for the elastic nature of God’s love, grace, mercy and compassion.
A little boy was arraigned to court for killing his parents. He pleaded guilty but asked the judge to have pity on him because he was an orphan. I’m just wondering, if God was the judge how would he have demonstrated the wideness of his love, grace, mercy and compassion!
The wideness of God’s love, grace, mercy and compassion is manifested by the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ as an atonement for humanity’s sins. But how do we benefit from it?
“He who walks righteously and speaks what is right, who rejects gain from extortion and keeps his hand from accepting bribes, who stops his ears against plots of murder and shuts his eyes against contemplating evil – this is the man who will dwell on the heights…” and whose “eyes will see the king in his beauty…”
Judging from the above, “without the abundance of God’s love, grace, mercy and compassion who is going to be saved?”
When the disciples of Jesus asked him, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus replied, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Mtt. 19:25-26).
Yes, with God all things are possible “For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our law giver, the Lord is our king; it is he who will save us” (Is.33:13-17&22-24).
Abounding grace is not a licence for continuing in sin (Rom.6:15). It is rather a chance to “leave your life of sin” (Jn.8:11); to live in Christ as a new creation, abandoning the old and embracing the new (II Cor.5:17).
Let us return to the Lord and remain with him so as to share in the abundance of his love.
Prayer: Holy Spirit lead me in a righteous walk so that I can be in the presence of the Lord all the days of my life. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
