“Receive The Gospel With A Repentant Heart!”
There is nothing anybody can do without being criticised. No-one can please everyone. John the Baptist lived on locusts and wild honey (Mk.1:6). Jesus told the people that John neither ate nor drank as others. The people said he had a demon. He Jesus came, ate and drank with the people, socialising with all kinds of people and the people said he was a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.
Jesus raises the awareness in us that it is not whether the messenger is a teetotaler living in solitude or whether the messenger socialises, eating and drinking with others. What is important is that “Wisdom is proved right by her actions.” “Never judge a book by its cover!”
Those who have been witnesses to the miraculous works of God and still undermine its truth are worst off than those who were considered evil in the days of old. We shouldn’t blame Adam for original sin as if we could have done differently.
For the gospel to have been with us for over a century and the evil we perpetuate makes us worst that the people of Sodom. If Sodom were witnesses to what we have witnessed they would not have been destroyed(Mtt.11:16-24).
Let the wisdom we have be proven by our actions. This means our fear of the Lord should be seen through our actions because the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
Prayer of the week: Holy Spirit lead me to receive the gospel with a contrite and repentant heart. Amen!
Welcome to a new working week! Have a blessed day and week! Peace be with you!
