“Prove Yourself Faithful In Handling The Secret Things Of God!”
The divisions in the Corinthian church was caused by personality cult. Christians focused their attentions on the messengers rather than the message which they were bringing. Rejection of one and approval of the other was being judgmental.
What happened among the Corinthians is still very much around with us in the churches.
Paul’s advice: Christians “ought to regard us as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the secret things of God.”
Whoever is given a trust must prove faithful. Such faithfulness requires a clear conscience. Human judgment is too early and is of no consequence.
Judgment is of the Lord. “Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men’s hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God “(I Cor.4:1-5).
What should guide you in your daily work include being faithful to the trust given to you. Let your conscience be clear and your motive pure. Whoever works with a hidden motive cannot claim to have a clear conscience. Those who operate with hidden motives may win the applause of the multide, but at the appointed time when the Lord comes, “he will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men’s hearts…”
Bottomline: Be faithful and do not abuse the trust given to you. Do not judge others. Do your work with a clear conscience; though that doesn’t make you innocent. Do not work with hidden motives, because when the day comes, every hidden secret and motive will be exposed.
Prayer: Holy Spirit help me daily to be faithful to my trust, working with a clear conscience and without any hidden agenda. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
