Pray And Be Filled With The Holy Spirit!”
My people say your people are your buttocks. The people with whom we share fellowship in Christ have become our new family. After their release Peter and John went back to “their own people” and recounted to them all that had happened to them.
Hearing this “they raised their voices together in prayer to God. Yes, there is always our own people whom we can always go back to when the hostile world releases us. And when they hear our ordeals they will raise their voices in prayer to God.
We are told that “after they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly” (Acts 4:23-31).
Our collective prayers drives away all our fears and fill us with the Holy Spirit so that we can speak boldly for Jesus. Remember that Peter and John were asked not to speak again in the name of Jesus Christ, but what happened after the prayer was rather the reverse. All of their own people were filled with the Holy Spirit and they spoke the word of God boldly. The power of God is above the power of men.
Men often rejoice that they have prevailed over their adversaries but everything is always in God’s plan. Just like the people mentioned in their prayer, Herod and his cohorts who conspired against Jesus were only pawns in God’s hands. “They did what your power and will had decided before hand should happen…”
Whenever your courage fails, pray and God will fill you with the Holy Spirit so that you will speak boldly against the injustices that surrounds us.
Prayer: Almighty God fill me with the Holy Spirit so that I will speak your word boldly. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
