“Offer The Parts Of Your Body To God As Instruments Of Righteousness!”(Rom.6:12-14).
During his baptism a man told the pastor, “Do not baptise my hands because I will use them to kill my enemies.” This man may have been naive about conversion, but perhaps the heavenly beings consider him a better Christian than many of us.
He was honest; unlike those of us who have given our whole body for baptism but still use the parts of our body to perpetuate wickedness. The Scriptures in most part are written for us who are already in the fold. These Scriptures consider what we have been, what we are, and precribes what we ought to be.
What we ought to be presupposes what we ought not to be. To this end Paul exhorts us, “Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.”
There is so much disgruntlement, grumblings, anger, hatred, jealousy, and all vices imaginable have become commonplace in the body of Christ. And if it is so it is revealing that as individuals we are offering “the parts of our body to sin, as instruments of wickedness.”
A complete turnaround is needed from all of us to “offer ourselves to God and offer the parts of our body to him as instruments of righteousness.”
There is enough space for all of us to live forever happily after, if we offer the parts of our body to God as instruments of righteousness! But the same space cannot be able to accommodate us all if bitterness caused by wickedness blocks us from being neighbours!
Prayer: Holy Spirit help me daily to offer the parts of my body to God as instruments of righteousness. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
