“May God Find In You Someone After His Own Heart!”
Those who make a distinction between a biological child and other children abuse the grace of God. If it is about bloodline the genealogy of Jesus won’t make sense because it ends with, “…David was the father of Solomon…Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary of whom was born Jesus, who is called the Christ”(Mtt.1:1-16).
We know that Joseph was not the biological father of Jesus, yet Jesus’ genealogy traces his bloodline through Joseph. This is a lesson to those who discriminate against nonbiological children. The child you call your own must not necessarily be biological!
Concerning David God testified, “I have found David son of Jesse a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.” This is not to say David was a perfect man. We know his lustful nature which even led him to commit murder, yet God considered him “a man after my own heart.”
From David God brought the Saviour Jesus as he had promised. But before his coming, he sent John to preach “repentance and baptism to all the people…”
While completing his work John said, “Who do you think I am? I am not that one. No, but he is coming after me, whose sandals I am not worthy to untie”(Acts 13:25).
The work of the messengers of today is still to call the people to repentance as a preparation to receive the Prince of peace. Messengers should not take advantage of the vulnerability of the people and exploit them to their advantage. Messengers are messengers and must not take the place of the Master as is becoming fashionable these days!
Our assignment is to prepare the way for the Lord! Believers prepare yourselves to receive Christ through genuine repentance!
Prayer: Lord, may you find in me someone after your own heart and I will do everything you want. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
