“Make Yourself Ready To Walk On The Way!”(Is.35:3-10).
The proverbial, “there is light at the end of the tunnel,” is now a worn-out cliché. “There is light at the end of the tunnel” may kindle hope and motivate encouragement to those who are in the tunnel. But while they are in the tunnel – still far away from its end – what they are in dire need of is “a lamp to their feet and a light on their path.”
As we await to commemorate the Messiah, there is despair, disappointment, and frustration all around and over us. That notwithstanding, there is hope built on “nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.”
Isaiah says, “Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, ‘Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution, he will come to save you.’ Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Then will the lame leap like a deer and the mute tongue shout for joy. And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that Way…” However, “The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it… But only the redeemed will walk there, and those the Lord has rescued will return… with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.”
Yes, my friend, “weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes in the morning.” When Jesus comes, he will tell you, “Please don’t cry. Wipe your tears.” He is not going to wipe your tears for you. At best, he may provide you with a handkerchief.
Stop asking, “God, where are you?” God is in the battlefield where the soldiers of Christ confront their enemies. God is letting the soldiers defeat the enemy as Moses’ hands are lifted up and supported by Aaron and Hur when Moses’ arms grow tired.
Prayer of the day and week: Lord Jesus Christ, as we enter this month in which we commemorate your birthday, show us what you want us to do and empower us to go there and do it for you. Amen!
Welcome to the month of joyous festivities and celebrations for being the redeemed of the Lord.
Have a blessed day and month! Peace be with you!
