“Make Sure You Fulfil The Vow You Make To God!”
A man had two pigs, male and female. During Harvest Thanksgiving season he prayed, “Lord if you increase my pigs to three I’ll offer one to you as my Harvest Thanksgiving. God answered his prayer but he never fulfilled his pledge. Rather he prayed again asking God to make it four, etc.
In one of our meditations we told you not all prayers are answered and fulfilled in Church. It happens somewhere else and may need another person.
After Eli the priest blessed Hannah she went home, slept with her husband and became pregnant. When she gave birth to a baby boy she named him Samuel. When the boy was weaned she took him, accompanied with other offerings to the house of the Lord at Shiloh.
She told the priest, “I am the woman who stood here beside you praying to the Lord. I prayed for this child, and the Lord granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord” (I Sam.1:19-28).
My friend, what is it that you have cried so much about and almost gave up? What is it that has become the reason why your haters mock you?
Do not be downcast. Pour out you bitterness and pain to the Lord; especially in the house of the Lord. Trust in the Lord always and walk in his ways. He will turn your disgrace into grace! He will transform your shame into fame! Those who mock you will come to hail you!
In all these do not forget to fulfil the vow you made to the Lord when you were desperate! Do not forget to offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the Lord. Thank the Lord always for all the good gifts which surround you are from him.
Prayer: Thank you Father Almighty that through Jesus Christ you have answered my prayer. Holy Spirit urge me to fulfil the vows I made to God. Amen!
