“Make Every Effort To Be At Peace With God!”
Knowing that the day of the Lord will come like a surprise, Peter asks us to “live godly lives” as we look forward to that day. In this sense we should “make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.”
Peter also warns us of misleading theologies emanating from the interpretation of some of Paul’s seemingly difficult letters “which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do other scriptures to their destruction.”
Having known this, “be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” to whom be glory now and for ever!(I Pt.3:10-18).
Today rounds up the week’s teachings on forgiveness and reconciliation. May the Lord inspire you to read his word so that the centrality of his words may be deep in your heart as you tolerate the weaknesses and appreciate the strengths of others!
Weekend prayer: Lord help us to be on guard against lawless people and not to fall from our secure positions in you. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
