“Lord Jesus Christ, Let Your Kingdom Reign Speak To My Favour!”
John was privileged to see in a vision that after Jesus had ascended into heaven, “He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all people’s, nations and men of every language worshipped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.”
This is to tell us that he is a good king. A good king is recognised by how much his edicts are joyfully accepted by his subjects. In the same way we recognize the unadulterated reign of God in Christ as his will is done on earth as it is in heaven.
We note however that before Jesus took his throne to begin his reign, God first of all decided on our individual cases as “the court was seated, and the book was opened…”
Those whose actions contradicts the reign of God were stripped of their authority”; even if they “were allowed to live for a period of time”(Dan. 7:9-14).
The kingdom where Jesus Christ is now reigning supreme is not a kind of illusory utopia. It is not also in another realm of existence other than the one now! It is here and now! It is manifested when the power of love transcends the love of power in human hearts! It is here when the love for vengeance is swallowed up in the love for forgiveness!
The reign of Christ the king is evident when righteousness, truth, equity, justice, peace and love flows naturally in the hearts of (wo)men! These virtues represent the kingdom reign of the ascended Lord! When they exist God’s kingdom can never be destroyed! Therefore be part of that indestructible kingdom as you submit to the words of the Lord in word, thought and deed!
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ inspire me to remain part of your kingdom by submitting to your will here on earth as it is in heaven. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
