“Live Under Grace Through The Spirit!”
God sent his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. That is why there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit sets us free from the law of sin and death.
Freedom from the law of sin and death is not freedom to do as we please because we are no longer accountable to the law.
Such freedom is that “sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace”(Rom.6:14).
Through grace God “condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit” (Rom.8:1-4).
Being under grace and not under the law is not a licence to do whatever the law prohibits because grace abounds. By no means!(Rom.6:1-2a). The law still plays a role in the life of a believer, but no longer as a means of salvation. The law is a moral and ethical guide, obeyed out of love for God and by the power that the Spirit provides. This is the fulfilment of the new covenant where as the Lord said, “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God and they will be my people. No longer will a man teach his neighbour…saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest…” (Jer.31:31-34).
As long as evil is still rife in our midst, amongst us Christians, the law has not yet been written on our hearts. When that is done, all these preachings will stop because we shall all know what to do and what not to do an act accordingly.
Dear friend, each day is an opportunity to allow the law to be written on your heart so that truly there will no longer be any condemnation because you are fully under grace and living gracefully.
Prayer: Lord help me to put to death my sinful nature and yield to the directing and empowering ministry of the Holy Spirit. Amen!
