“Live As A Child Of Light!”

“Live As A Child Of Light@”(Eph.5:1-10).
Dearly beloved, it is another day to celebrate the steadfast love of the Lord. Christ, the Saviour loved us and gave himself for us “as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” This act of sacrificial love is an example for us to follow.
Members of the household of faith are one holy family. Paul advises that to follow God’s example of love, there shouldn’t be “even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed…” There shouldn’t be “obscenity, foolish talk, or coarse joking, which are out of place.”
We are vying for an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God, but that kingdom has no inheritance for the immoral, impure, or greedy person. This is idolatry!
The sins mentioned here must have been context-specific. This means that in any Christian community, context-specific sins should be addressed.
Summarily, sin is caused by disobedience to the commands of God.
Any teaching that in any way encourages any kind of sin is deceptive. It is such deceptive empty words that provokes God’s wrath to “come on those who are disobedient.”
“Therefore, do not be partners with them.”
Dear friend, it may (not) be a long time ago that any of us were once darkness, but now we are light in the Lord. Live as children of light… and find out what pleases the Lord.” The presence of light is in its fruit which “consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth.”
God’s grace is sufficient for us, but we can not take it for granted because when an elastic is constantly stretched, it eventually becomes inelastic.
Weekend prayer: Holy Spirit, help us daily to live as children of light, finding out what pleases the Lord. Amen!
