“Listen To The Lord!”
Do you live your life by listening to the silent voice of God speak to you in the inner man or you just flow with the tide? Can you bear witness to yourself that God spoke to you? Was it an easy encounter?
Jeremiah began his ministry by being his own witness. He wrote, “The word of the Lord came to me saying, ‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.'”
Despite this Jeremiah tried to excuse himself that he was only a child and did not know how to speak. God still assured him, “…You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you.”
God did not end there. He touched Jeremiah’s mouth and said, “Now I have put my words in your mouth. See today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant”(Jer.1:4-10).
Each one of us has a unique calling from the Lord for a special assignment. You miss it and become an aimless roamer if you start arguing with God with some flimsy reasons why you can’t do it. God does not deal with us haphazardly. He planned it from our times of births.
When God calls he assigns and equips. God’s prophetic assignments are not white collar jobs; they are risky missions. Missions to uproot and tear down nations and kingdoms, to destroy and overthrow then, but also to build and plant.
Yet he never leaves us alone! He assures, “Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you.”
My friend, do not be afraid of them; God is watching your back!
Prayer: Lord I am ready to go and say or do whatever you command. Watch my back just as you have assured me. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
