“Keep Hope Alive; Better Days Are Coming!”
One of Cameroon’s one time popular musician Eko Roosevelt in one of his hit songs wondered why some people can’t allow others to find their way in life. Once they see you succeeding they put stumbling blocks on your way. He said if you see him walking in the rain it is not that raincoat is lacking. He is saving so that tomorrow he may buy a cart. Do not think that he is a fool because one day he would buy a car.
Eko was expressing his hope of a better tomorrow. We all long for that better tomorrow well expressed by Mary Peters: “Through the love of God our Saviour all will be well… all, all is well…all must be well…” We may pass through tribulations, yet, “we expect a bright tomorrow” because “faith can sing through days of sorrow.”
If you confide in God you’ll be happy. If you abide in Christ you’ll be fruitful and you’ll be holy through the guidance of the Spirit. So, “All must be well!”
Where there is life, there is hope. Our predicaments are temporary because every misfortune, every obstacle that stands on your way has an expiry date!
God has assured us of the day of restoration when our enemies shall be shamed.”the ruthless will vanish, the mockers will disappear, and all who have an eye for evil will be cut down – those who with a word make a man out to be guilty…and with false testimony deprive the innocent of justice….”
Meanwhile on that day the deaf will hear the words of the scroll, and…the eyes of the blind will see…the humble will rejoice in the Lord, the needy will rejoice in the Holy One…”
My friend, no matter how gloomy and bleak the present seems to be, rest assured that you will see the works of God’s hands and keep his name holy. Even the “wayward in spirit will gain understanding and those who complain will accept instruction” (Is.29:17-24).
We remain confident that whatever it is we are passing through now, the Lord will heal us and heal our land. No condition is permanent! Keep yourself glued to God’s Word!
Prayer: Lord thank you for the assurance of a better and bright tomorrow. Help me to keep hope alive through your Word. Amen!
