“Jesus Christ Is Something Better Than Silver And Gold!”
A man born crippled was carried and put every day at the temple gate “to beg from those going into the temple to pray.” One day when he saw Peter and John going into the temple to pray he asked them for money. Peter said to him, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” The man was instantly healed and he began to walk. He accompanied them into the temple praising God. When onlookers who knew the man recognized him, “they were filled with amazement at what had happened “(Acts 3:1-10).
Some people may ridicule the name of Jesus Christ but to us who believe in him we know differently. We know that there is power in that name Jesus Christ.
The name Jesus Christ is something more than silver and gold. Today we still emphasise on the power of touch and the spoken word. When Peter spoke the word to the cripple, he took the man’s right hand and helped him up.
My friend, there are many out there hurting and ailing, needing words of comfort and a compassionate touch. Touch somebody today and speak words of comfort to their pain.
And you too my other friend, may be you are one such nameless person who is identified only by his/her problem or health condition. Be rest assured that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth your sorrow and pain will be transformed into jubilation. Your condition is not your conclusion. Those who have tagged you by your condition will soon see you and be “filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to” you. Put your trust in Jesus Christ because he is a story changer! Jesus Christ is something more than silver and gold!
