“It Is Fine To Be Zealous, Provided The Purpose Is Good!”
You would always have people who come poisoning your mind against friends who were once close to you. They seek to destroy the reputation of people who at one time you could have died for them. And the worst part of it is when you listen to such people and believe their distortions and become zealous for them!
Like Paul, one can only ask, “Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth?”
Who has bewitched you to become like the foolish Galatians? Even as you are reading me now, there are people who are zealous to win you over, but for no good. What they want is to alienate you from us, so that you may be zealous for them.” My friend, “shine your eyes!” No church is better than the other, unless they help you know Christ better!
Our assignment has been to bring the gospel to you as it is! We were not called to draw anybody to ourselves! Jesus says, “when I’m lifted up, I’ll draw all men unto me!”
The psalmist says, “zeal for thy house consumes me.” That is why “it is fine to be zealous, provided the purpose is good, and to be so always…”(Gal. 4:12-20).
Beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing! If it is not about Jesus Christ, be wary of the enticing words! Whoever for any reason is not giving you any convincing reason why s/he will make you feel Christ better is drawing you into self! Run away as fast as you can! Such “is an ill wind that is blowing no-one any good!” Only Jesus Christ can save! Be zealous only for him and the things of God!
Prayer: Holy Spirit strengthen me so that I won’t be swept off my feet by any illwind! Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
