“I Am Coming Soon, Hold On To What You Have!”
All things being normal, merit deserves credit and praises. Unfortunately we live in a world where the fastest runners do not always win the race. Even those who are slow and steady still do not win. It is a world where winners are often handclappers who may not have even registered or contested in the race.
When at the end of the day the winning team compensates the match delegate, referee and linesmen with juicy and mouth watering cakes, you may ask the question, “Was the match free and fair? But that is the reality of our world.
Peter, Paul and Mary would answer, “the answer is blowing in the wind! But John says they are “those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars.” About such, and as a credit to the vindicated, the Lord says, “I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you.”
But like we said earlier, “merit deserves credit and praises!” This is especially so with our God who is a God of justice, truth and righteousness! Such was the credit merited by the Philadelphian church: “…I know your deeds…I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name…Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come…I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God…I will write on him the name of my God…”*(Rev.3:7-13).
My friend, as you prepare to receive him at Christmas the main theme to note is: “I am coming soon…”
*Prepare to receive him by keeping his word and not denying his name by word and deed! Even if you are of the synagogue of satan, you are given another chance because God allows ‘U turns!’*
Prayer: Holy Spirit help me to hold on to what I have so that no one will take my crown. Amen!
Have a blessed day and weekend! Peace be with you!
