“Hold Firmly To The Word Of Life And Shine Among Them…!”(Phi.2:14-18).
The garden of Eden still exist for our benefit. Eden is still there to give us all that was planted there for our benefit. But as long as we listen to the voice of a stranger, we become estranged children of God thus missing out on the plenty that Eden provides.
Jesus promised paradise to the repentant thief while the three of them were hanging on the cross.
We are in a “warped and crooked generation,” but we can still be the difference by being what we were created to be.
Paul told the Philippians and by extension he is telling us, “Do everything wthout grumbling and arguing so that you may become blameless and pure ‘children of God in a warped and crooked generation.’ Then you will shine among them like the stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life…”
When we hold firmly to the word of life, we will live lives that are worthy of the gospel.
Life should not threat us fairly before we think good of others and rejoice with them. Paul wrote this letter while in prison, yet he could still say, “I am glad and rejoice with all of you. So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.”
Dear friend, you and I may not be able to change the world, but through the gospel we can be the difference! Let us hold firmly to the gospel, live and do the gospel and we will be the light that illuminates the darkness within our environment.
Grumbling and arguing keeps us stagnant, but we move ahead when we focus on the word of life. Let us therefore in all our assignments work heartily as serving the Lord and not people. In whatever assignment, make your mentors proud that their labours were not in vain!
Weekend prayer: Holy Spirit lead me daily not to grumble and argue but to be among those who shine the light of Christ in a darkened world. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
