“Here I Am – I Have Come To Do Your Will!”(Heb.10:1-10).
Have you ever listened to a new song or music and are able to detect an unnoticeable error? The song may be original, but a mistake can be detected. It can be that a guitarist touched a wrong cord, but it passed for a style in the first outing of the music.
The original is never the first writing/print or composition. The original is within the author or composer!
The incarnation was a manifestation of the Divine Original in human form. The earthly presence of Christ – the incarnation – abrogated the law of Moses, which was like a dim reflection in a mirror.
Whatever was held in high esteem in the Law lost its importance once Christ entered the physical realm.
Christ came to reconcile fallen humanity with God by the use of his blood because “life is in the blood,”
However, the importance of the redeeming work of Christ with his blood is only in so far by his readiness and willingness to obey and submit to the will of the Father.
Jesus knew that his Father was not desirous of sacrifice and offering, so he told the Father, “Here I am, I have come to do your will, my God.” It is ‘by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of’ his body once for all.
This once for all sacrifice that has made us holy teaches us the lesson of submissive obedience or obedient submission to the will of the Father through his Son our Lord and Savior.
Weekend prayer: O LORD my God, here I am to do your will in obedient submission. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
