“Eschew Jealousy!”(Acts13:44-49).
We live in a world where jealousy is rife. Unfortunately a jealous person hardly see the damage s/he does to self. Jealousy can cause somebody to miss great opportunities.
This is what happened to Jews in Pisidian Antioch. The whole city had gathered on a Sabbath day to hear the word of the Lord. “When the Jews saw the large crowds, they were filled with jealousy and talked abusively about what Paul was saying.”
Well, their rejection of the word of the Lord was the gain of Gentiles, just as scripture had foretold. The Gentiles were glad and honoured God because they too were considered worthy of salvation through Jesus Christ. “And all who were appointed for eternal life believed.”
This is to say to posses eternal life requires human faith and divine appointment. We believe, but the fullness of grace is according to God’s appointment.
My friend, do not allow jealousy to cause you to forfeit your blessings. Rather, in your own little way, make the word of God to continue to spread.
Prayer: Holy Spirit help me to eschew jealousy. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
