“Escape The Winepress Of God’s Wrath!”(Rev.14:14-20).
Heavenly Father, thank you for another day of grace. As we step out, direct our feet towards the path of obedience and submission.
Back in the days when we were students of the Presbyterian Theological College, we were placed on a monthly allowance. It wasn’t much, but it was something to look forward to as the month end approached. Our code language to inform that allowance was available was, “Cocoa dong ripe.” – “Cocoa is ripe.”
To any farmer harvest time is awaited with great expectation. Farmers also know that you do not only reap what you sow, but they also know that a good harvest is possible only through effort.
Judgment day is the day set for the harvest of the earth. This time around, human beings are the crops that will be harvested. Each person’s place on Judgment Day and after would depend on what we are and what we do here and now.
We recall that Jesus’ first miracle was in Cana, where he turned water into wine. The grim picture of Judgment Day is that evildoers will be trampled in the winepress of God’s wrath, and blood will flow. Human blood will flow out of the wine press where wine used to flow.
Dear friend, this is the personalised question for myself and you too: “After the harvest of the earth am I going to be put in the storehouse of the LORD or like grapes I’m going to be harvested and trampled in the winepress of God’s wrath?”
Weekend prayer: Holy Spirit, lead me this day on the path of salvation in Christ Jesus. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
