“Do What Is Right And You Will Be Accepted By The Lord!”
Seriously speaking what did you do to be what you are, who you are and where you are? What did you do to have what you now call your possession or wealth?
When you sing the praise hymn “Praise God from whom all blessings flow…” do you take time to reflect that you are nothing without him from whom all blessings flow?
God has blessed you without measure and expects the best from you when you want to give back to him. The first recorded murder case was for the simple reason that God was pleased with Abel and his offering but was displeased with Cain and his offering.
Cain was angry and became jealoused of his brother, lured him into the bush and killed him. What a world!
Even today humanity has still not learned a lesson from this story. Many have lost their lives for being good and doing good which leads to jealousy of siblings, relatives and friends.
My friend, when you want to give to God give what will cause him to be pleased with you and your offering. Do not give grudgingly or out of compulsion.
Do what is right and you will be accepted by God. “But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door,…” (Gen.4:1-16). All that you are and have comes from God, give back to him without counting the cost. Each time you stretch out a helping hand to someone in need you are doing it to God,. And each time you give to the service of God you are giving to God. Do what is right by bringing the right offering and God will be pleased with you.
