“Do Not Fear The Risk; The Lord Will Rescue You!”
One reason why a Christian must never be hostile to a non Christian is that each non Christian is a potential convert; a likely soon to be brethren in the Lord. Paul who was once hostile to the Christian faith became so zealous for the faith, such that some of the early believers were wondering whether it was the same Paul who persecuted Christians.
In as much as each call is unique, the message remains the same. “I…appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen of me and what I will show you.” We are not just called to be saved. We are called and sent to open the eyes of others “and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.”
The atrocities and the uncalled for wasting of human lives, burning and destruction that is systematically going on around us is evidence enough that we have an urgent mission to open the eyes of our people “and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God…” They too need forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Jesus Christ.
My friend, be ready at all times to stand in defense of the faith even when arrested and brought before kings! Expect strong opposition from within as well as from without, but be strong. Jesus assures, “I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them…”(Acts 26:12-18).
Take note: he says, “I am sending you to them…” He has not said you should stand at a comfortable distance and give instructions. You should face danger where duty calls, but he will rescue you.
Weekend prayer: Lord Jesus Christ give me the courage to take the risk in turning the eyes of my people from darkness to light. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
