“Divine Restoration!”(Ez.36:22-28).
The descent of the Holy Spirit and baptism is the fulfilment of an old prophecy. Our actions profane the name of God but like a good father he wipes the faeces from his body and still embraces us.
God’s restoration plan is for his name’s sake, because without grace in Jesus Christ we do not merit salvation.
God spoke about restoration through Ezekiel, “…I will sprinkle clean water on you and you will be clean. I will cleanse you from all impurities and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws…you will be my people, and I will be your God…”
We have been cleansed through the water of holy baptism and God’s Spirit has been put in us. May we then pray that the Holy Spirit should transform our hearts of stone that leads us away from God’s presence and grace, and put a heart of flesh which helps to keep us in God’s presence and grace..
Weekend prayer: Create in me a clean and pure heart O LORD and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
