“Declaring God’s Wisdom!” I Cor. II:6-10).
(I Cor.II:1-6).
“We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. However, as it is written: ‘What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived’ — the things God has prepared for those who love him— these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
After a man of 58 years old listened to a powerful speech by Martin Luther King Jr., he said, “When I grow up, I will want to be like King.” It does not always apply that the older you get, the wiser and more mature you become. If a fool at forty is a fool forever, you don’t expect such a fool to become wise at sixty.
God’s wisdom is a mystery that has been hidden, though it existed before the beginning of time. The mystery is the Word(Christ) who had been from the beginning and was with God, and was God himself.
This wisdom is too lofty to be digested by the rulers and wise people of this generation.
“Christ is the wisdom from God,” he is our wisdom. Through him comes the gains which “God has prepared for those who love him – these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. “
Cerebral Christianity has encouraged half-baked misleading theologies that rely on “the wisdom of this age” and “the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.”
It is the Holy Spirit who reveals the mystery of God. The Spirit opens our eyes to see what no eye has seen, to hear what no ear has heard and to conceive what no human mind has conceived; even though they had been prepared for those who love God.
My friend, Christ makes sense and has meaning for those who love God.
Do you love God? Then obey him because obedience is an expression of love, and love is a motivation for obedience. Remember that the Spirit searches all things, even our hearts and minds.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, encourage obedience in us and incline our hearts to Christ the wisdom of God. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
