“Clothe Yourself With The Lord Jesus Christ!”
Comfortable Christianity is that moment when as Christians we call blcck white and defend with conviction that red is yellow! Compromising faith is when we do the contrary to the “you shall not,” and fail to do the “you shall!”
In fact it is such moments which Paul considers as living in the night and doing the things that are done under cover of the darkness. When we live our faith this way, then we are like people who are in deep sleep when it is almost dawn.
The approach of Christmas is a reminder to us that “our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed…Let us behave decently,…not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.”
We should sit up and rather clothe ourselves “with the Lord Jesus Christ” and forget thinking of “how to gratify the desires of the flesh”(Rom.13:8-14).
To wear the Lord Jesus Christ as a clothe is to keep paying the only “continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellow-man fulfils the law.”
My friend, it is love that came down at Christmas. How do you intend to enjoy that love if you may at the same time be the cause of pain to others? Please “clothe yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ” by forgiving those who have wronged you!
Prayer: Holy Spirit lead me to put on the armour of light and clothe myself with the Lord Jesus Christ in my thought, word and deed. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
